Heyy! I’m Emma a fashion communications and promotion graduate, with a love for anything obscure and eccentric. I have always been passionate about fashion since the age of four when my dad bought me a pair of overalls so I could look just like him, to today where I model clothes for New Look and somehow my dads baggy camouflage print shorts are still considered fashion to me. I have explored many different personal fashions through the years (with my Adidas track jacket being an all time low) I carry on developing my style and the things I enjoy consistently, forever holding my soft spot for a good hat. After four years doing textiles through school and at A-level I realised I was superrrr bad at making clothes. This helped me realise my passion lied within the more sketchbook elements of creating. Which ultimately led me to FCP.

 

My three years on FCP have been a real rollercoaster, looking back at all of my work while creating this portfolio, believe me when I say I have come along way since first year. I love to experiment with ‘cool’ designs and have developed a keen interest in everything graphic design through this experimentation. Many of my designs in my final year have been focused around a grotesque or eccentric art style, delving into this art style which supplies this feeling of not being able to look away has been key in helping push me out of my comfort zone when approaching new tasks and realising the fact that my work could never be everyones cup of tea so I might as well make something that at least I will like (and hopefully my lecturers). I enjoy creating layout which is something I have done a lot of this year, with other skills lying in idea generation and giving advice to my peers to further their work and give me more ideas to explore. Often describing myself as a curious person I enjoy throwing myself into the research aspects of my projects.

 

When thinking about my future other than being terrified to leave education and enter the world of a big girl I am excited to continue exploring everything I have been exploring in the last three years. I want to travel the world work on lots of different projects and constantly develop my creative abilities. I love photography, graphic design and generally just seeing the beauty or coolness in everything. My years in FCP have helped me find the beauty in my obscure.
